Communication
Kool Kids Early Learning Centres believe that communication is a key component to a successful and fruitful relationship and partnership with our families. We value communication so highly that we have put in place procedures to ensure effective communications between home and the centre.
On enrolment each child will receive a communication plan, which outlines the methods of communication that the centre will be using with families during the year.
Examples of communication methods used at Kool Kids are;
- Daily communications – this can vary from slips in your child’s bag or a notebook dedicated to each child detailing his/her experiences each day. There are general noticeboards in each room detailing the day. Communication diaries are also used in each room for both educators and parents/guardians to share information about children.
- Newsletters are provided regularly updating news on the centre and upcoming activities. When required, general notices about the centre and staff are provided to each family. Information is sent out to families via a mix of email and standard mail.
- Our notice board in the foyer is also a form of communication. Here we display information about activities for the month and classroom information.
- Most importantly there is an open door policy which allows face-to-face communications with your child’s educators to discuss your child’s experiences at Kool Kids. As part of this open door policy parents/guardians and family are welcomed into our Centres at anytime. Parent/guardian participation sends strong positive messages to your child that you support them and are part of the child care environment.
Parent/guardian involvement at their Centre can be accommodated to meet your availability and commitments. This can be;
- Participation in excursions
- Assisting in fundraising
- Attending special activities and functions in the Centre
- Volunteering time by reading a story, playing or sharing a special talent or skill
- Suggestions for programming
- Feedback on service
- Attending parent/guardian teacher nights
Be aware that a three way relationship between parents/guardians, educators and your child exists in this setting. Communication is a vital ingredient to the success of this partnership.
