Genki Japanese parent study guideThe Genki Japanese curriculum is delivered over a 12 month period and is designed to open up and increase imaginative thought processes, whilst introducing cultural diversity.
Each unit contains core materials being – new vocabulary, vocabulary usage activities, songs and consolidating challenges.
When utilizing the curriculum with your child you should consider their study time as a part of the consolidation process. This meaning that you should follow and practice the units after your child has been demonstrated and taught that unit at Kool Kids. This ensures your child has had exposure to the target areas of each unit and will be familiar with the activity that you will practice.
Each subsequent unit has some connection to previous units, and where possible you should refer to core teachings and vocabulary from previous units to create longer phrasing and competence in a contextual environment.
Numbers in Japanese + Adjectives in Japanese + Nouns in Japanese
EG. ICHI (one) + AKA (red) + RINGO (apple) = One red apple.
The objective here is to increase brain activity and learning potential and not to become fluent in Japanese, fluency in language comes with the step by step introduction to the building blocks of the language and the capture of the children’s genuine imagination in the process.
Please refer to the audio file format information if you are having problems playing any of the audio files within the curriculum.
As an additional component of the program, some fun songs are now available online. These songs will help your child retain the Japanese they learn at Kool Kids through repetition and rhythm.
