The outdoor environments at our Helensvale child care centre include a two playground style climbing frames, a fort, three slides, a nature play sensory garden and a Zen Garden for children to safely develop their strength, balance, and self-confidence through play. Our outdoor learning program focuses on the development of your child’s strength, balance, and self-confidence.

Our indoor learning spaces offer a variety of engaging resources including dedicated library area, interactive whiteboards and more for children to learn and grow. Our experienced educators and teachers use these to design various age-appropriate play-based experiences.

Dedicated and passionate team of educators

At the heart of our child care centre in Helensvale is our longstanding team of early childhood educators and teachers with some team members at the centre for over 10 years. We are a multicultural early learning, with educators proficient in over 7 different languages including Mandarin, Cantonese, Thai, and Portuguese. Several of our educators are parents themselves, giving our team a greater understanding of what our families need.

Our team of passionate and qualified early childhood teachers and educators are dedicated to ensuring every child feels safe, nurtured, and inspired throughout their early education journey. Each educator brings their own unique set of skills which we try to incorporate into our curriculum, such as music teacher, ballet teacher, cook and artist, language lessons and more.

Delicious and healthy meals prepared on site

Our Helensvale early learning centre provides children with nutritious, unprocessed, and seasonal whole foods. Our menu rotates every four weeks to cater to diverse dietary requirements. We actively involve children in food preparation to promote healthy eating.

At Kool Kids Helensvale early learning centre, we recognise the importance of play in a child’s learning and development journey. Our team tailors play-based learning activities in line with national standards, specifically the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), helping prepare them for kindergarten and school readiness.

Our Early Learning Curriculum also provides children with:

  • Real Life experiences: Children participate in fun and exciting experiences such as our Master Chef cooking classes every Monday, wood working mornings, harvesting the veggie garden, caring for our worm farm, birds, fish, and stingless beehives.
  • Sustainability program: Each age group participates in a sustainability project that help children embed sustainable practices into everyday life. Children learn about recycling, conserving water, growing food, and the importance of looking after and protecting our planet.
  • Community engagement activities: We often have visits from local community librarians, local police, and other community services in Helensvale to help familiarise the children with their local community. We also have excursions to our local Library and local primary school Helensvale state school to assist our Kindergarten children with their transition to ‘big school’.
  • Sports Program: Future champs’ mission is to educate and inspire children towards happy and healthy futures. Throughout the year children will participate in the Future Champs Early Education Health and Physical Education (HPE) Program.
  • Weekly Yoga sessions: Every Thursday our Junior Kindy, Senior Kindy and Kindergarten children have yoga sessions in our Zen Garden.
  • Music and Movement Program: Every Monday we have our exclusive RAMSR (Rhythm and Movement for Self-Regulation) program that supports children’s self-regulation, memory, and concentration.
  • Language Program: All children participate in Japanese music and language classes every Wednesday with Miss Haruko.

Our Kindergarten programs are tailored to meet your child’s individual learning needs across numeracy, literacy, emotional and social development, resilience, and self-regulation.

We offer a QLD Government-approved Kindergarten enhanced learning program, supporting your child’s development and well-being from now, at school and beyond. In Queensland, 4-year-old children are able to access a funded Kindergarten program that fosters play based learning, led by a Bachelor Qualified Early Childhood Teacher. If eligible, your child will be able to participate in the Government-approved Kindergarten program, at no cost, up to 15 hours per week, 40 weeks per year. Talk to us about how this reduces your out-of-pocket costs.

The added benefits of our Kindergarten program include:

  • QLD ‘Free Kindy’ Government-approved program
  • Extended opening hours
  • Open all year round (excl public holidays)
  • Programs developed and delivered by our Early Childhood Teachers
  • Exclusive music and movement program for self-regulation

I started working in early learning in 2000. I joined the team at Kool Kids Helensvale in 2024. I hold a Diploma in Children’s Services.

During my career, I have worked with all age groups, from babies to school-age children. Every day, I am inspired by how quickly children learn, grow, and adapt to change. I love building relationships with families, educators, and children the most. I believe that allowing children to explore and challenge themselves gives them opportunities to develop relationships, build confidence, and learn new skills.

I am passionate about providing quality care in a safe and secure environment. All our educators are trained in First Aid, CPR, and Anaphylaxis. Our experienced team plan a range of structured and spontaneous experiences. Whether through individual or large groups, children develop their social and emotional skills and become more confident. Professional development is offered regularly to keep our educators updated with skills and practices.

We support our families by building relationships through constant communication and ensuring that they feel welcomed and supported during their time at our centre.

Nursery Room (6 weeks – 15 months)

Learning starts from before birth. Our nursery Educators have created a welcoming and nurturing environment where each baby feels safe to explore and discover new things – through their senses, their communication, cues (body language, facial expression, and sounds) and by experimenting.

On any given day you can see the nursery children engaging in all types of meaningful play, such as water play, music time, story time and more. Each day provides a brand new, exciting opportunity for our nursery children.

Toddler Room: (15 months – 3 years)

Our Teachers and Educators encourage the toddler children to learn through play to help enhance their sensory-motor development. This learning happens through carefully planned music, dance, games and reading experiences. On any given day the children can be seen developing their numeracy by building a tower, sorting objects, pointing, and identifying shapes and patterns and participating in counting songs and games.

Children in our toddler rooms are encouraged to participate in group play. Group play is important, as it helps our toddlers develop important social skills such as, turn taking, developing self-confidence and emotional self-regulation. Our team helps children through talking, planning and role modelling.

Kindergarten and School Readiness Program: (3-5 years)

Kindergarten is a unique time for learning with peers and developing skills for later learning.  Our play-based Kindergarten program encourages active engagement in learning and supports a range of positive developmental outcomes including resilience, independence, critical thinking, and creativity.

Kool Kids’ Family Support team will add your child’s name to our waitlist if one of our centres is currently full in your child’s age group. We will then contact you as soon as a place becomes available.

We also do monthly check-ins to review the availability, and you will receive a text message confirming if you’re still happy to remain on the waitlist each month. If you would like to get an update at any point, you’re welcome to reach out on our Web Chat or give us a call.

Our Family Support team can also help you find more G8 early learning centres near you, with the same offerings at the Kool Kids centre you are interested in that have immediate availability.

It’s common for a child to experience separation anxiety when they first start child care. When you’re getting ready to start child care, you can help your child overcome anxieties by visiting the child care centre together for a Stay and Play session, and easing into new routines at home.

Most of our Kool Kids child care and early education centres offer the following:

  • Nappies and wipes
  • Sunscreen and hats
  • Nutritious meals prepared by our in-house cook

Some centres also provide sheets and formula, so you may not need to remember to pack them.

For nursery children, be sure to bring: nappy rash cream, dummies, bottles and teats, comfort toys or blankets, three spare outfits, spare socks and a plastic bag for wet clothes.

For toddlers and preschool or kindergarten-aged children, it’s best to bring: spare underwear, water bottle or sippy cup, sun hat, closed-toe shoes, two spare outfits, spare socks and a plastic bag for wet clothes.

Plus anything else your individual child may need, such as breast milk, a sleeping bag, a comforter or medication.

It’s best to speak to your centre of choice for a full list of everything included.

Kool Kids uses Xplor Home as our family communication app. It is the best and easiest way to keep track of your child’s day. After you enrol your child with the centre, you can utilise Xplor Home to book child care days, manage your account, receive the photographs that capture your child’s learning, learn about your child’s progress, as well as keep up-to-date with upcoming centre events and important information.

If your child shows signs of an infectious illness when they arrive at the centre or becomes sick during the day, you may be notified that you need to make alternative arrangements or pick up your child from the centre, and keep them home until they are no longer infectious. While we understand that this can be inconvenient, Kool Kids is committed to maintaining a healthy environment and reducing the risk of infection for all children.

Under the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), families are allowed 42 absence days per child, per financial year. These can be taken for any reason, including public holidays and when children are sick, without the need for families to provide documentation.
